Sport now sits at the centre of fashion, music, gaming, technology and entertainment. Traditional audience size alone cannot explain its growing cultural influence. This session explores how athletes, teams and brands create relevance across communities—and why meaningful cultural participation is becoming more valuable than simply reaching the largest possible crowd.

Most people talk about building brands from the outside. Oyin Akiniyi does it from the inside.
She is a culture-led brand and marketing leader with 15+ years inside some of the world's most recognisable organisations. She has led teams, shaped narratives and built campaigns, content and experiences for Nike, Apple Music, YouTube, Boiler Room, Warner Music and Chivas.
Oyin knows what it takes to make a brand mean something, not just look like something. Her work sits at the intersection of brand strategy, culture and creativity, with a specialism in how modern brands are built from the inside out: through culture, creators, entertainment and the people leading it.
Curious and entrepreneurial, she turns cultural trends into scalable platforms, partnerships and stories. For her, culture isn't an add-on. It's the lens through which brands become meaningful.
